Browsing through the intense traditional Souq Waqif, you can come across birds for sale, sacks of rice and hand crafted trinkets, although the market has recently been refurbished so it has lost a little of its cultural flair. Still it is worth the visit just to take in the local trades and scents of Qatar. Visit a shopping mall, where the much needed air conditioning provides a needed escape from the high temperatures of the outside.
Or if you fancy moving a little further inland, hire a four wheeler to travel over the desert and watch a fantastic sight as the sun sets over the exquisite sand dunes. Magical.
