About Germany
Germany is the largest country in Central Europe, and is bordered by many countries including France, Denmark and Poland. It has a rich history and interesting cultural blend which makes it a fascinating place for tourists to visit, and visitors to the country can experience everything from beautiful mountainous regions to swathes of forest and modern, cosmopolitan cities. The capital, Berlin, is filled with cultural sites of interest and is known these days for its vibrant nightlife and club scene.
Germany’s involvement in the World Wars means it is filled with museums and important buildings relating to some of the most historically significant events in the world. Outside of the cities, there is much glorious countryside to be explored, from the Black Forest to the Rhine Valley, surrounded by vineyards and agricultural areas. Lake Constance in the south is a real highlight, as the Swiss Alps can be seen across the water from the manmade lakeside ‘beaches’.
